Program Name: Mite-ADM
Ice Time: Multiple sixty minute practices including skills clinics with 1 cross-ice game per week
Where: Practices held at Groton School or Lawrence Academy - Groton, MA. GAMES - Local Rinks in Mass Hockey District 8.
Ages: 8 and under.
Schedule: October – March
Description: Our Mite ADM is ideal for graduates of the Learn To Skate program, or for those children with some skating experience who want to begin to learn to play hockey, or have completed 1 year of Mite-ADM. The players are divided into two groups. 1 group is more advanced skaters with and the 2nd group are those moving from Learn to Skate to the Mite ADM program. The program focuses on skating (stopping, turning, skating backwards) and hockey (stick handling, passing, shooting) skills. Games are cross-ice. Emphasis is on teaching the fundamentals of the game of hockey. The foundation of the program is based on USA Hockey's American Development Model.
Required Equipment: Full hockey gear including HECC Approved Helmet with face mask, knee pads, shoulder pads, hockey skates, hockey gloves, and hockey stick.
